{"id":989,"date":"2025-02-20T21:22:05","date_gmt":"2025-02-20T11:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kiddieacademy.com.au\/?p=989"},"modified":"2025-02-20T21:45:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T11:45:18","slug":"3-day-guarantee-legislation-passess","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kiddieacademy.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/02\/20\/3-day-guarantee-legislation-passess\/","title":{"rendered":"3-Day Guarantee &#8211; Legislation Passess"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 11 December 2024, the Australian Government announced changes to how subsidised hours are calculated for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This change is part of the government&#8217;s pathway toward a universal early education and care system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legislation to enact this measure passed Parliament and is awaiting Royal Assent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 5 January 2026:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>all CCS eligible families will get 3 days\u2019 subsidised care each week for each child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>families caring for First Nations children will get 100 hours of subsidised care each fortnight for each child<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Families will still get 100 hours of subsidised care each fortnight for each child if they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>work, train, study or volunteer for more than 48 hours each fortnight, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have an exemption<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>How much CCS families can get depends on their circumstances, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>their combined family income<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>hourly rate caps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>number of children in their care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>age of children in their care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The department will now work with Services Australia to ensure child care providers and families are ready for the change in January next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 11 December 2024, the Australian Government announced changes to how subsidised hours are calculated for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
